Northern Powergrid offers goodwill gesture to storm-affected customers without power for more than 24 hours

The vicious storm that passed through the Northeast on Thursday was certainly exceptional, causing significant lightning and flood damage to the local power network.
At Northern Powergrid, our team, operating to our major incident plan, have worked day and night to put the power back on for every customer affected. We really appreciate the patience and support shown to us by our customers and local communities through this very challenging period.
Whilst the severity of the storm was obviously outside our control we understand the inconvenience of being without power for a long time. We're offering a goodwill gesture to the value of £54 for any customer without power for more than 24 hours and a further £27 for each 12-hour period thereafter (* conditions apply).
We are aware that some customers have been unable to return to their homes or local businesses due to flood damage and our extended sympathy goes out to you. You can count on us to be there when you need us when you are able to return.

*If we needed local access to repair our network and this was prevented due to flooding, or we needed access to work within your property and this was not available to us, then the 24 hour period commences from when access became possible.
