Customers can seek competitive quotations from other independent connections providers (ICPs) for some of the work on the electrical connection. The work that ICPs can do is known as ‘contestable’ works. ICPs must be accredited by the Lloyds Register National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) in order to carry out contestable works. We actively promote competition in connections and are committed to maintaining an environment in which independent companies can compete freely and fairly to undertake contestable works.
