Every year, electrical losses on our network costs our customers millions of pounds and results in roughly 1 million tonnes of extra carbon dioxide emissions.
We have many innovative ways of minimising losses on our network, and the good news is that customers can also help – particularly major energy users with poor power factor.
Poor power factor can increase network losses and can result in higher costs for our customers. A customer who improves their power factor could save money on energy bills, and could reduce the network losses associated with their electricity supply.
